How much is this going to cost me?
The total price for our California online traffic school course is only $21.95 including tax, 24-hour certificate processing, shipping and handling. Depending on the court, you may choose to have your certificate delivery expedited for an additional charge. We also offer a certified mailing option for most courts as well. Please note your courts specific certificate issues in our certificate policy and/or when you register for our course.
Each court charges an additional fee to allow you to attend a traffic school or home study program. This is separate from any of our charges. If you do not pay this fee to the court, then the court will not accept your certificate of completion from us. All traffic schools including classroom, home study or Internet courses will charge separate additional fees.

How does the process work?
If you have just received a California traffic ticket, wait to receive your paperwork from the court. Most courts will mail you a courtesy notice about two to three weeks after you receive a ticket. This notice will inform you of the bail amount you must pay for the ticket as well as your traffic school eligibility. Most courts will charge an administrative fee to allow you to complete traffic school in addition to the bail amount. Make sure to pay the required fees by your courts payment due date. It is important to take care of your court obligations before starting any of our programs.

One Exception... San Diego County courts require that the student pay for their ticket AND complete traffic school at the same time. If you received a ticket in San Diego County, the court will send you information reflecting this policy.

When will I get my certificate?
Your certificate of completion will be processed within three business days from when you complete the course online or when your workbook test is received & graded. We will send your certificate to you via regular mail - it is your responsibility to send your certificate to the court. If your due date is soon approaching, we offer FedEx mailing services for your certificate for an additional charge. You may request this option when you pay for your course.

Can I take the course immediately? Can I take it in sections?
Yes, you can take the course immediately, and you can take the course in sections or do it all at once. No wasted Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons sitting in a hotel conference room with 50 other people. It is your choice when and how long you want to work on the course. Many of our customers take the course at work during breaks or late in the evenings at home.

Is this course approved by my court?
Some counties require that you get permission from the judge or the court clerk to take traffic school - but many do not. Click here to see if your particular court has approved our online traffic school programs.

My court is not approved. What should I do?
If you receive a message stating that your court has not approved the course, many customers have had success requesting special permission by their court to complete their traffic school requirements using our program.

If you intend to request permission, register for the course in advance, following the on-screen instructions to obtain special court permission. Once we receive a faxed or mailed copy of an approval letter from the court, on court letterhead, specifically granting you permission to take "TrafficSchool.com" or a "home study or on-line program", we will grant you access to the course.

Remember: It is your responsibility to insure that your court will accept TrafficSchool.com's program.

If your court is not approved and you do not get special permission your court will not accept our certificate of completion.

Do I need any special type of computer to get on the program?
No. As long as you can get to the Internet, you can use our program.

What if I don't have my own computer? Can I do the course from several different computers? Like both at home and at work or school? Can I work on it from a friend's house?

That's OK. You can complete our traffic school program using virtually any computer with Internet access. Take the course at your local public library, at school, a cyber cafe, at work (make sure this is acceptable with your employer) or at your friend's house. While this is a home study program, some people are on the move and use different systems. Most computers and browsers available can use the course, but optimal performance will be achieved with the most recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

As an alternative to taking an online traffic school program, we also have a workbook traffic school program available. The "TrafficSchool.com - Workbook Course", which is approved in numerous courts throughout California, will also satisfy your traffic school requirements in most California courts. Our workbook is very similar to our online course. It is similar to a short magazine and is easy reading covering a wide range of traffic safety topics and techniques. If your job or lifestyle requires a lot of traveling, the workbook would be a great alternative to any traffic school course. You may select the workbook course during the online registration process providing that it is approved by your county court.

Are there videos to download?
No. There are absolutely no downloading requirements.

Can I use a Macintosh computer to do the course?
Yes, you can use a Macintosh computer.

I am new to the Internet. Is this course hard to follow?
No. Many of our customers are new to computers and to the Internet. We have designed this course for beginners and you need no special computer skills. We are also always available to help you via telephone or E-Mail.

How much time do I have to complete the course once I've paid for my ticket?
You should make every attempt to complete your online traffic school course at least a couple days before your due date. Your court will give you ample time (generally 30-90 days) to complete your traffic school, but we recommend finishing your course as soon as possible. If your due date is soon approaching, we offer expedited overnight shipping for your certificate for an additional charge. You may request this option when you pay for your course.
